Conference Tournament Thursday Looks

Bob Digital (@BobbyDigital2) back again, guiding you through another week in the betting space with WOLF Sports.

Conference Tournament Week is one of the most underrated stretches in sports—single-elimination games all week long, leading into Selection Sunday.

At the time of writing, betting markets are limited, but as always, I focus on widely available numbers and full transparency.

Here’s a look at two spots I’m eyeing for Thursday’s slate. I’ll tweet out an update Thursday morning on whether these become official plays at the current market prices.

Big East: Xavier vs. Marquette

Pick: Xavier +2

Xavier has been the best team in the Big East since February 1 and has everything to play for, sitting squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Marquette has been average in conference play and hasn’t beaten a for-sure tournament team since January 3.

Kam Jones is elite for the Golden Eagles, but they’ll need more depth to make a serious push in both this tournament and March Madness.

Xavier is a live underdog here, and I like them to cover—and potentially win outright.

MAC: Eastern Michigan vs. Miami (OH)

Pick: Eastern Michigan +5.5

Miami (OH) could be in trouble here.

Their leading scorer, Peter Suder, exited the regular-season finale after just three minutes and didn’t return. His status is uncertain, and MAC injury reports are tough to track.

Miami (OH) ranks 330th in Haslemetrics’ away-from-home metric, meaning they struggle outside their own gym.

Eastern Michigan is peaking at the right time, winning five of their last seven—including a win over Miami (OH).

If Suder is out or limited, this game sets up well for the underdog. I’m grabbing +5.5 with a sprinkle on the moneyline.
